I have two boys aged 11 and 7 and a big extended family with lots of siblings, in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Every Christmas my family buys lots of gifts for one another. However, the last couple of years I have been really conscious of the environmental impact of all the toys and gifts that we buy.

Becoming aware that plastic takes thousands of years to biodegrade is scary. Realising every piece of plastic you’ve purchased is still around on this Earth is a wake up call. 

This year I am aiming to buy more environmentally friendly gifts and toys. This website shares ideas of toys and gifts which have a less environmental impact.

I have been looking for gifts which are made of recycled materials or materials which are easier to biodegrade. I have also researched gift ideas which encourage zero waste.
